Career Services at the University of Illinois

The information contained in the Recruitment and Graduation Benchmarks 2006-2007 is collected and compiled by the Career Services Council.  It is a summary of the recruiting activity at all of the career services offices at UIUC.  It also provides information from 2007 seniors about their post-graduation plans (Chancellor’s Senior Survey).  The Benchmarks report has been generated in some format since 1988-89. A sampling of significant findings in the 2006-2007 report include:

  • 7,753 employers interacted with various career services offices on campus
  • 11,306 jobs and internships were posted with career services offices
  • 32,775 students at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign registered and participated in career fairs, on-campus interviews, or on-line job postings during 2006-07, the largest number ever recorded at Illinois
  • Most recent employer data gathered for HireIllini.com  (2005-06)

    • 4,559* employers recruit at Illinois (career fairs, on-campus interviews, or on-line job postings)
    • 801*  employers attend career fairs
    • 830* employers conducted on-campus interviews

2006 Senior Survey post-graduation plans:

  • 73% of graduates obtained jobs within 6 months of graduation
  • 26.4% went directly on to graduate and professional schools
    • Arts and Sciences - 4.2%
    • Business - 2.1% (MBA 1.4%)
    • Dentistry - 0.7%
    • Education - 0.4%
    • Engineering - 1.1%
    • Law - 3.0%
    • Medicine - 2.8%
    • Veterinary Medicine - 0.5%
    • other - 11.6%
